Basic:

 

Apples or apples juice

 

Blueberries

one cup

Kefir or youghurt

 

Lots of cinamon

 

Flaxseeds

Collards greens or lettuce

A cup

Cashew nuts

Two handful

Chia seeds

A spoon

Water

200 ml

Stevia -if needed an extra sweet taste

 

Lucuma powder

one teaspoon

 

 

 

 

Preparation and tips

 

Place all the ingredients in the blender besides the stevia. Taste the smoothy and add stevia in you need added sweetness.

 

Why

 

In this smoothy we use collard greens or lettuce because increasing the amount of Green leafy vegetables we can significantly reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

The lucuma is added for its fruity flavor and its low glycemic index.

Cashewnuts is a key ingredient in this smoothy since they are packed with unsaturated fats which have a positive effect on metabolism; besides, its anacardic acid stimulates glucosa transport and control. And last but not least, we love the creamy texture of cashewnuts!
